Course Creator Lab started because I kept seeing the same problem: smart people with real knowledge getting stuck before their course ever had a chance to work.
I'm Nick.
I spent about 20 years in film and video production before moving deeper into online education as a creative and technical producer.
These days, I work as a Creative & Technical Producer at Awesomely, where I help build, shape, edit, and produce online education content.
That means I live in the weird middle between creative strategy, video production, course structure, editing, tech, and making sure the thing actually gets finished.
What production taught me
The polished lesson is not always the useful lesson.
After enough years making videos, courses, and education content, you start to see the same pattern. The hard part is not always recording the lesson. The hard part is knowing what the lesson is supposed to do, who it is for, and how it fits into the bigger promise.
A course can look polished and still be confusing. It can have great videos and still fail to move the learner forward. That is the gap Course Creator Lab is built to catch early.
What I kept noticing
Most people do not struggle because they are not smart enough to teach.
They struggle because the course is fuzzy. The promise is fuzzy. The audience is fuzzy. The modules become a pile of information instead of a path. And once that happens, recording more lessons usually makes the problem worse, not better.
Why I built Course Creator Lab
A faster way to pressure-test the idea before you overbuild it.
I wanted something more useful than staring at a blank doc, but more structured than asking a random chatbot, "Is my course good?"
The lab gives you a starting point, shows you what is unclear, and helps you decide what to fix next.
Also, I'm a normal human
Useful, direct, and a little scrappy.
When I'm not working on course systems, I'm usually with my family, hanging with the dogs, playing hockey, making something, fixing something, or trying to squeeze one more idea into an already full day.
Course Creator Lab is built with that same energy: useful, direct, a little scrappy, and meant to help real people make progress.
What this is and is not
Not a magic button. A clearer place to start.
This is not a magic button that builds a perfect course for you. It is a guided lab that helps you see your idea or course more clearly. The AI helps move fast. The strategy gives it direction. And if you want human help, that is where the Lab Session comes in.
